COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed center Mark Letestu on injured reserve because of a hand injury he got in a game last Thursday at San Jose.

General manager Scott Howson said on Tuesday that Letestu is expected to be out six weeks.

The 26-year-old native of Elk Point, Alberta, has five goals, six assists and two penalty minutes this season in 36 games with the Blue Jackets and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was acquired from Pittsburgh on Nov. 8 in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2012 entry draft.

In 110 career NHL games, Letestu has had 20 goals and 19 assists.
