Rockets fall to Ball State 70-68

The University of Toledo men lost Tuesday night when Ball State's Jarrod Jones scored a lay up with 0.6 seconds left to lift the Cardinals to a 70-68 win at Savage Arena.

Toledo (8-8, 0-2) tied the game with 6.5 seconds left on a lay up by Reese Holliday. From there, Cardinals senior guard Randy Davis drove the length of the court before dishing to Jones under the hoop.

Rian Pearson led UT in points (19) and rebounds (seven), and Dominique Buckley added 16 points while playing much of the second half with four fouls. Reserve forward Richard Wonnell, a walk-on from Genoa, made all four of his shots from the field and scored nine points in 14 minutes. Wonnell scored a lay up late in the game to put UT ahead 66-63.
Jones led BSU (10-4, 2-0) with 22 points.
