FREMONT--Marc Loving, who finished with 19 points, nailed a running shot with 20 seconds left that lifted the Titans to the win.
Loving's basket gave St. John's 52-50 lead, then Ross missed an attempt and the Titans' Tarvis Malone sealed the deal with two fouls shots in the final second.
D.J. Bonds scored 16 points for St. John's, 10-4 overall and 7-2 in the TRAC.
Diante Pettiford, Jay Carnicom and Nick Streacker each scored 13 for Ross, 6-7, 4-5.
