COLUMBUS -- Now that's the offense Ohio State fans expected.

Despite an underwhelming start, the Urban Meyer era opened today in promising fashion as the Buckeyes rolled to a 56-10 victory over Miami.

Ohio State trailed 3-0 after the first quarter as its new no-huddle spread offense sputtered before a sold-out crowd at Ohio Stadium. But quarterback Braxton Miller and the Buckeyes offered a resounding response. Led by Miller, whose 161 rushing yards broke the school’s single-game school record for a quarterback, the Buckeyes had back-to-back-to-back touchdown drives in the second quarter.

Miller completed 14 of 24 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Running back Carlos Hyde added two rushing touchdowns.
