Trojans capture shootout over Knights; Roback guides Titans to rout of Spartans

Findlay 62, St. Francis 41

FINDLAY — Vance Settlemire set Findlay's single-game rushing record with 347 yards on 25 carries Friday night to lead the Trojans over St. Francis in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference game.

The senior scored six touchdowns in a game that featured more than 1,100 yards of offense.

Findlay (5-1, 2-1 TRAC) sprinted to a 40-7 lead. Settlemire rushed for a 51-yard TD on the Trojans' opening drive and did not slow, rushing for scores of 19, 42, 45, 24, and 33 yards.

Findlay, which was also lifted by Joseph Davidson's 25-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter, finished with 532 yards of offense.

Paul Cosiano was 9-of-14 passing for 159 yards with TD passes to Jimmy Orwick and Wyatt Krupp.

The Knights (1-5, 0-3) countered via the air to rack up 572 yards. David Nees completed 25 of 34 passes for 357 yards and three touchdowns — all of which went to Andrew Bonfiglio. Nees also rushed for a touchdown while Michael Wagner ran for 167 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.

St. John's 50, Lima Senior 7

LIMA — Deadlocked 7-7 after the opening quarter, the Titans pulled away and never looked back to advance to 2-4 , 2-1 in the TRAC.

Quarterback Brogan Roback had a big night, tossing two scoring passes to Craig Mays and one to Liam Allen, and running for one himself

Collin Korte and Connor Lake each rushed for touchdowns, and Matt Dominique booted field goals of 38 and 28 yards.

Devion Smith accounted for the Lima (0-6, 0-3) touchdown with a 15-yard run in the first quarter.

Central Catholic 42, Fremont Ross 21

FREMONT — Amir Edwards ran for three touchdowns and Paul Moses rushed for two more to lead the top-ranked Fighting Irish (6-0, 3-0 TRAC) over Fremont Ross (3-3, 1-2).

Edwards ran for 128 yards on 20 carries with touchdown runs of 15, 25, and four yards while Moses rushed for 71 yards on 12 carries with scoring dashes of nine and two yards as Central Catholic opened a 42-7 lead and cruised from there. Quarterback DeShone Kizer completed 12 of 19 passes for 89 yards.

Also scoring for Central was Joe Solomon, who returned a fumble 50 yards for a touchdown.

Fremont Ross quarterback Tyler Wolf completed 3 of 6 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown, and ran for 112 yards on 12 carries.
