NLL: Panthers, Cougars win with shutouts

Maumee quarterback Steve Duby tossed three touchdowns while the defense shut down the host Cougars Friday night in a Northern Lakes League game..

Duby completed 10 of 22 passes for 211 yards and two scoring strikes to Dominique King and another to Sean McGovern. King caught five passes for 103 yards for the Panthers (5-2,3-2).

McGovern also returned an interception 26 yards for a TD.

For the Wildcats (3-5, 1-4), running back Preston McCurdy totaled 68 yards on 16 attempts.

Southview 42,Anthony Wayne 0

Austin Valdez carried visiting Southview on the ground and through the air in a blowout victory.

Valdez rushed 15 times for 115 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Valdez ran in from 3, 4, and 13 yards out.

Ahmad Parker added 80 yards on 10 carries, scoring on a 25 yard run. Nate Hall caught a 25 yard pass from Valdez and J.J. Pinckney caught a 25 yard touchdown pass on his way to 94 yards receiving.

Bowling Green 42, Springfield 20

Andrew Dennis threw for 318 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for two scores to lift the visiting Bobcats.

Dennis connected with Quinn Donaldson (15 yards) and Ryan Emans (54 yards), and also scored on rushes of 6 and 11 yards for Bowling Green (3-5, 1-4).

Trent Watters and Trey Loescher each had one-yard TD run for the Bobcats.

Clay Fink threw for 181 yards and threw touchdowns to Jesean Fisher (10 yards), Nevada Parker (five yards), and Tevin Stuart (seven yards). Elijah Todd had 142 yards rushing for the Blue Devils (1-7, 1-4).
