Michigan to play in Outback Bowl

The Outback Bowl announced this afternoon that Michigan will play in the Jan. 1 bowl at 1 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

The Wolverines will face an SEC opponent, No. 11 South Carolina, in the New Year's Day bowl game.

Michigan finished the season 8-4 and is ranked 19th in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll and 22nd in the final USA Today Coaches Poll.
