Simpson gets 22 saves but Toledo Walleye lose 3-1 to Kalamazoo

Toledo goalie Kent Simpson made 22 saves in the Walleye's 3-1 loss to Kalamazoo tonight at the Huntington Center.

Kalamazoo goalie Joel Martin made 36 saves.

Trevor Parkes gave Toledo a 1-0 lead 2:21 into the game before Kalamazoo answered on first-period goals by Nick Sirota and John Armstrong.

After a scoreless second period in which the Walleye outshot the Wings 12-5, Dustin Cloutier's shorthanded goal gave Kalamazoo a 3-1 lead.

The Walleye continue a three-game homestand at 7:05 Saturday against the Bakersfield Condors.
