Richardson's game-high 15 points lead Toledo women past Ohio 61-42


Naama Shafir established a new career assists record at the University of Toledo on Wednesday in a 61-42 home win over Ohio.

Shafir, who needed two assists to pass Dana Drew (1990-95), finished with nine. Shafir, a fifth-year senior, has 667 for her career.

Yolanda Richardson led the Rockets (18-2, 6-1 Mid-American Conference) with 15 points. Shafir and Zanoguera had seven a piece.

Ohio's leading scorers, Kiyanna Black and Erin Bailes, were a combined 1 of 18 from the field. The Bobcats (5-14, 0-7) lost for the seventh straight game.
