Zetterberg nets a hat trick in Detroit's 5-3 win over St. Louis

DETROIT - Pavel Datsyuk scored the go-ahead goal on a power play in the third period to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-3 win over St. Louis tonight at Joe Louis Arena.

Henrik Zetterberg scored three goals and had two assists, and set up Datsyuk's game-winning goal, which came on a five-minute power play after Blues captain David Backes received a match penalty for a hit to the head on Detroit defenseman Kent Huskins.

Kevin Shattenkirk, Matt D'Agostini and Patrik Berglund scored for St. Louis. Jonathan Ericsson also scored for Detroit.

Brian Elliott made 17 saves in relief of St. Louis starter Jaroslav Halak (nine saves).

Jimmy Howard made 22 saves for Detroit, which faces Columbus at 7 p.m. Saturday at Nationwide Arena.
