Central Michigan falls to BGSU 84-59

Andola Dortch scored 18 points to lead the University of Toledo women's basketball team to a 65-54 home win today over Western Michigan.

The Rockets (19-2, 7-1 Mid-American Conference) put together a 19-0 run at the end of the first half and headed to halftime on a 21-4 run.

Naama Shafir had 14 points and nine assists, and Inma Zanoguera had 10 points. Brianna Jones, who played extensively because Yolanda Richardson was in foul trouble, scored 10 points.

Miracle Woods led Western Michigan (6-15, 2-6) with 16 points.

 

Central Michigan Chippewas fall to BGSU Falcons 84-59

BOWLING GREEN -- The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team defeated Central Michigan 84-59 at the Stroh Center today.

Chrissy Steffen led four players in double figures with 19 points for the Falcons, who improved to 14-7 and 5-3 in the Mid-American Conference. Bailey Cairnduff and Jillian Halfhill each scored 14 and Alexis Rogers had 13 as BG dealt the Chippewas their first MAC loss of the season.

Crystal Bradford and Brandie Baker each had 14 to lead Central Michigan (13-8, 7-1 MAC).
