Football recruits make big decisions on Signing Day
2/7/2013Those among the University of Toledo faithful relieved to see the era of the two-quarterback system go to pasture might be unnerved to learn coach Matt Campbell is tossing around the idea of bringing it back.
That bad news — if it even qualifies as such — was overshadowed by a day filled with positives, as the Rockets snatched four commitments Wednesday to finalize a recruiting class that already was expected to rank atop the Mid-American Conference.
Falcons target positions of need
Football coach Dave Clawson and his staff have recruited five sets of athletes to Bowling Green State University.
But Clawson admitted that the route he and his staff took to put together the 24-man group that signed Wednesday with the Falcons is different from the previous four.
Ohio State recruits far-reaching

Signing Day sans suspense at UM
There were no surprises, no last-minute changes of heart, and no 11th-hour additions.
By noon Wednesday, the Michigan football coaching staff had received exactly the number of commitments it had expected. Without any accompanying drama.
In addition to six players who enrolled this semester at Michigan, 21 players officially signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to join the Michigan football program.
Commentary: Meyer, Hoke share knack for recruiting
Nothing can or should be taken as gospel on college football’s national signing day, although there are plenty of lowercase “b” bibles available for reference.
Two agencies most dedicated to the recruiting wars are Rivals.com and Scout.com. One had Florida ranked No. 3 and UCLA ninth. The other had UCLA at No. 4 and Florida eighth. Take your pick and hum the fight song.
One thing in which they seemed to be in agreement on Wednesday was that Ohio State’s Class of 2013 is exceptional, as is expected of Urban Meyer. And they agreed, too, that Brady Hoke is a worthy adversary.
