MUNCIE, Ind. — The University of Toledo women's basketball team blew a 20-point lead but survived Sunday to win at Ball State, 68-64.
The Rockets (21-2, 9-1 Mid-American Conference), who have won nine in a row, jumped out to a 13-0 lead in a battle of co-leaders of the West, and led by 16 at halftime.
Ball State (11-12, 8-2) cut the deficit to single digits with 7:21 to go and took a 59-57 lead with three minutes left.
Toledo's Naama Shafir scored eight of her 19 points in the final 4:29, and assisted on a Yolanda Richardson lay up that broke a 59-59 tie.
Andola Dortch (13 points), Richardson (11), and Inma Zanoguera (10) also scored in double figures for the Rockets.
