Ricketts leads Owens women in win; men lose to Cincinnati State

Emma-Jean Ricketts poured in 21 points and the Owens women’s basketball team made some key halftime adjustments in an 82-65 victory over No. 20 Cincinnati State.

The Express shot 20-for-30 (66.7 percent) overall in the second half, 3-for-8 from 3-point range and 9-for-16 from the foul line.

Uniqua Mitchell scored 14 points, Karahn Scott 13, and Nandi Taylor 12 for the Express (21-7, 8-2).

Men

CINCINNATI STATE 90, OWENS 82

Joe Retic scored 19 points, and Andy Bachman and James Kelly added 18 points each, but the Express fell at home to Cincinnati State Technical and Community College 90-82.

With the loss, the Express (19-8, 8-2) fell to second place in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.

Franklin Lindsey also had 12 points for the Express. Kelly recorded 12 rebounds and five assists.
