Yellow Jackets force 24 turnovers in 48-36 win over Fremont Ross

FINDLAY – The Perrysburg boys basketball team used stifling defense to win a Division I sectional title today.

The Yellow Jackets (14-8) forced 24 turnovers to knock off Fremont Ross 48-36 at Liberty-Benton High School.

Nick Moschetti scored a game-high 19 points for Perrsyburg. Bryan Byrd, who converted on five of six free throws down the stretch, finished with nine points. Nate Patterson had eight points for the Yellow Jackets.

In the evenly played contest, Fremont Ross (14-9) pulled within four points with 1:49. But the Yellow Jackets scored the final eight points.

The Little Giants were led by Dylan Jagodzinski, who finished with a team-high 12 points.

Perrysburg advances to face the winner of today's other sectional final between Findlay and Anthony Wayne in the district semifinals on Thursday at Liberty-Benton.

The Little Giants, who were the No. 2 seed, finished with a 28-20 edge on the boards.

The Yellow Jackets, who were the No. 3 seed, led 21-20 at the half.
