Using a masterful display of basketball, the Rogers Rams (18-7) completed their second straight upset tonight, defeating ninth-ranked Central Catholic 60-39 in the boys Division I district final at Savage Arena.

Veteran senior guards Tony Kynard and Clemmye Owens, who will each play their college basketball at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida, were not ready to go on spring break after ending their high school careers in this game.

Kynard fired in 20 points and Owens had 18 to lead Rogers into Thursday's regional semifinal here against Anthony Wayne.

DeVonte Pratt added 11 points for the rams, and Keandre Gilmer grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

Central, which bowed out of tourney play at 19-6, was led in scoring by senior guard C.J. Bussey with 11 points.

The Rams had knocked off fifth-ranked St. John's Jesuit 66-55 at Savage Arena in Thursday's district semifinal to advance.
