COLUMBUS -- Notre Dame's surprising repeat run to the Division I girls state basketball semifinals came to an end tonight as the Eagles lost 37-31 to second-ranked Kettering Fairmont at the Schottenstein Center.
Notre Dame (25-4), which had won 19 straight games coming in, led 26-25 on a basket from junior forward Jayda Worthy with seven minutes remaining, but was outscored 12-6 from there.
Worthy led the unranked Eagles with 15 points.
Kathryn Westbeld led the Firebirds with 11 points and Chelsea Welch added 10.
Fairmont (26-1) also beat the Eagles 54-45 in last year's state semis.
