St. John’s Jesuit’s Ohio State-bound Marc Loving was named Ohio’s Mr. Basketball today by the Associated Press.
Loving, a 6-foot-8 senior, received the highly esteemed honor after leading the Titans to a 20-4 overall record. He averaged 21.2 points and 8.4 rebounds in his senior campaign.
The four-year letterwinner completed his career as the Titans’ all-time leading scorer (1,678) and rebounder (711).
He scored a single-game school record 42 points in a win over Lima Senior this season.
Loving was also named the All-Blade player of the year earlier this month. Libbey's William Buford was Mr. Basketball for the 2008 season.
