Robinson, Hardaway lead Michigan to 71-56 win over South Dakota State

Wolverines will face Virginia Commonwealth, Akron winner


AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Glenn Robinson III and Tim Hardaway, Jr., each scored 21 points as the Michigan men's basketball team defeated South Dakota State 71-56 tonight in an NCAA Tournament South region game at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

No. 4 Michigan (27-7) trailed 16-10 midway through the first half.

Robinson opened up Michigan's 30-26 halftime lead by scoring Michigan's first 11 points of the second half.

Brayden Carlson led No. 13 South Dakota State (25-10) with 20 points.

Michigan will face either No. 5 Virginia Commonwealth or No. 12 Akron in a third-round game Saturday at the Palace.
