Falcons down Mustangs 76-70 in WNIT match

BOWLING GREEN -- The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team defeated SMU 76-70 in a first-round Women's National Invitation Tournament game at the Stroh Center today.

With the victory the Falcons, who improved to 23-10 overall, will host Duquesne in a second-round WNIT game Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Stroh Center.

Jillian Halfhill led the Falcons with 23 points, while Alexis Rogers had 16 and both Jill Stein and Miriam Justinger had 10.

Alisha Filmore scored 22 points to lead SMU (21-10), while both Akil Simpson and Keena Mays had 18.
