Jason Day leads at the Masters, 14-year-old Guan becomes youngest to make cut despite penalty

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Jason Day leads the Masters after the second round, and 14-year-old Guan Tianlang has become the youngest player to make the cut in PGA Tour history.

Day shot a 4-under 68 today for a 6-under 138 total. That gives him a one-stroke lead over Fred Couples and Marc Leishman.

Guan is 10 shots off the lead — just good enough to make the cut. His margin of error would have been larger if not for the one-stroke penalty he received for slow play.

The Chinese eighth-grader was already the youngest player in Masters history. Now, he's reached another milestone — two more rounds in the first major of the year.

Tiger Woods surged to a share of the lead, but a tough finish knocked him three strokes behind.
