5-0 deficit proves too much to overcome as Mud Hens fall 6-4 against Syracuse

The Mud Hens rallied from an early 5-0 deficit but lost to Syracuse 6-4 at Fifth Third Field tonight.

Toledo starter Ramon Garcia gave up seven hits, including four doubles, in the first two innings as the Chiefs scored two runs in the first and three in the second.

The Hens got a run in the second on an RBI single by Bryan Holaday, then added three runs in the eighth thanks in large part to a pinch-hit two-run double by Quintin Berry.

Syracuse got a run in the top of the ninth on a bases-loaded walk. Toledo got the first two runners on in the bottom of the inning but failed to score and lost for the second straight night.
