CLEVELAND -- Today's Division I regional baseball championship game between St. Francis de Sales and Cleveland St. Ignatius at Case Western Reserve University was suspended after the top of the first inning by lightning, and then postponed by the heavy rains that followed.

St. Ignatius (25-6) had taken a 1-0 lead in their first at bat, and the game will be resumed at that point Stunday at a time and location to be determined by Ohio High School Athletic Association officials.

St. Francis has graduation ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, and St. Ignatius has its graduation scheduled for Sunday.

The fourth-ranked Kinights (29-2) advanced to this level by beating fifth-ranked Perrysburg (27-4) by a 10-5 count in Thursday's regional semifinal at Bowling Green. St. Ignatius defeated Avon Lake 3-2 in the other regional semifinal Thursday at Case Western.

St. Francis is bidding for its fourth trip to the state final four. The Knights lost in state semifinals against the eventual state champions in 1972, 1974, and 1999.
