ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Ben Guez went 4 for 4 with a pair of home runs to key the Mud Hens’ 14-hit attack and carry Toledo to a 12-4 win against Rochester on Monday.

Guez doubled in the second, then homered in both the third and fourth innings before singling in the seventh as the Hens won for the fifth time in six games and are 7-3 in June.

Guez was hit by a pitch in the ninth, allowing him to reach base in all five plate appearances.

After the start of the game was delayed 33 minutes by rain, Toledo scored twice in the second inning off Rochester starter Cole De Vries. Mike Cervenak walked with one out, and he moved to third on a double by Guez. Cervenak scored on a sacrifice fly by Bryan Holaday, and Argenis Diaz singled in Guez.

The Hens scored four times in the third on a rally that began with two outs and no one on base. Nick Castellanos and Danny Dorn singled, Cervenak hammered his first home run with Toledo, and Guez added a solo shot.

Toledo broke the game open in the fourth, sending nine batters to the plate and collecting five hits. The big hits were a two-run double by Dorn and a two-run homer by Guez, giving him nine this season.

Toledo starter Derek Hankins was hit on the pitching hand by a line drive in the third inning and had to leave the game.

Austin Jackson began his rehab assignment with the Mud Hens by going 0 for 5 with a walk and three strikeouts.
