USA Today coaches poll ranks OSU No. 2, Michigan No. 17

Ohio State is ranked second in the nation while Michigan is ranked at No. 17 in the preseason USA Today coaches poll, released today.

Alabama, the defending BCS champion, is No. 1 in the poll, which is released on a weekly basis during football season.

Ohio State went 12-0 last season and received three first-place votes; Michigan finished 8-5 last season and lost to South Carolina in the Outback Bowl. Ohio State opens the season Aug. 31 in Columbus against Buffalo and Michigan opens the season Aug. 31 in Ann Arbor against Central Michigan.

Toledo received one vote in the coaches poll.
