COLUMBUS — The Columbus Blue Jackets have hired former player agent Bill Zito as an assistant general manager.

Zito joins the Blue Jackets after spending the past two decades building Acme World Sports into one of the top hockey agencies in the world. Some of Zito’s clients have included John Madden, Brian Rafalski, Tuukka Rask, Kimmo Timonen, Antti Niemi and Tim Thomas.

The 48-year-old Zito is a graduate of Yale, where he played varsity hockey. He then attended law school at the University of Wisconsin and during that time served as an assistant coach for the Badgers team and was a radio color commentator. He worked at major law firms in New York and Chicago before founding Acme World Sports, LLC in 1995.
