UT, BGSU men's and women's teams ready for action

Toledo Rockets

■ UT men's basketball opens season Nov. 9

A trip to Lawrence, Kan. to play the Jayhawks highlights the University of Toledo's basketball schedule. The schedule, which was released today, features games against 10 teams that qualified for postseason play in 2013 as well as two games against rival Bowling Green.

 

■ Home games against Purdue, Dayton highlight UT women's schedule

The 2013-14 schedule, released today, shows the Rockets playing the Boilermakers on Nov. 17 and the Flyers on Dec. 22. Both opponents advanced to the second round of last year's NCAA tournament. “We’re thrilled to host two teams who not only made the NCAA Tournament, but also advanced to the second round," coach Tricia Cullop said in a statement. "Both games will be great measuring sticks for us. I hope our fans circle both those dates as “must-see” games.”

 

BGSU Falcons 

■ BGSU men's schedule filled with tough opponents

BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team will face five NCAA tournament teams as well as eight other teams that played in the postseason, according to the schedule the school released today. The Falcons will face NCAA tournament teams Wisconsin and Saint Louis as part of the Cancun Challenge, will host Western Kentucky at the Stroh Center Dec. 2, and will play a home-and-home series against Mid-American Conference rival Akron.

 

■ BGSU women to face three Big Ten teams

BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team will face three Big Ten opponents in 2013-14 according to the schedule the school released today. The Falcons will open the season against Michigan on Nov. 8 as part of the Iona Tournament, then will play at Ohio State on Nov. 24 as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge before traveling to West Lafayette, Ind., to take on Purdue on Dec. 22.
