Clippers top Mud Hens 6-2, deliver blow to playoff hopes

The Mud Hens playoff hopes took a hit tonight as Columbus claimed a 6-2 victory at Fifth Third Field.

The Clippers peppered Hens starter Derek Hankins for five runs in the first three innings, scoring two runs in the first, one in the second and two more in the third.

Columbus added an insurance run in the ninth off reliever Jim Johnson.

Toledo's lone runs came on solo home runs by Ben Guez in the second and James McCann in the fourth.
