Crisp hits clutch free throws to give Start tournament win

COLUMBUS - Demond Crisp hit a pair of free throws with eight seconds left to hand Start a 64-62 win over Hunting Valley University School last night at the Falcon Holiday Tournament.

Devin Russell led the Spartans (5-2) with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Anthony Henderson added 18 points, and Crisp finished with six.

Richard Morrow scored 19 points and Nolen Thompson chipped in with 18 for the Preppers (6-2).

Central 54,

Northview 42

Bruce Huntley scored 21 points to lead visiting Central Catholic. Drew Lehman and Tony Mays chipped in with 10 points apiece for the Irish (3-1).

The Irish took control during the third quarter when they outscored the Wildcats 18-10 to expand a 24-18 halftime margin.

Stephan Vizina paced Northview (2-6) with 14 points.

Eastwood 61,

Oak Harbor 37

PEMBERVILLE - Eastwood started the game with a press, forced turnovers that were converted into easy baskets and was on top of Oak Harbor 23-9 after one quarter.

Jason Faykosh scored 14 points, Clay Rolf had 11 and 10 Eagles scored.

Brandon Wasserman led the Rockets with 15.

Otsego 67, Lakota 60

KANSAS - Tony Gerwin pumped in a game-high 21 points, and the Knights prevailed in overtime.

Otsego outscored Lakota 13-6 in the extra session.

Matt Weisenborn added 17 points and seven assists for Otsego (5-1, 3-1 Suburban Lakes). Nick Howe scored 12.

Jacob Smith finished with 15 points for Lakota (2-4, 1-2). Scott Hoffman added 14, Jake Wiseman 13 and Dillan Winke 11.

Pettisville 68,

Ottawa Hills 53

Quinn Nofziger scored 21 points to pace the 7-0 Blackbirds.

Phillip Beans had 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Green Bears (6-1).

Danbury 55, Northwood 50

Vincent Manuella and Michael Hamann scored 14 points apiece, Hunter Stephens added 13 and Tyler Boring hit four free throws late in the game to help visiting Danbury (3-2, 1-0 TAAC) hold off Northwood (2-5, 1-2).

Ryan Canaday and Chris Keith scored 16 points each, and Charles Artino had 11 for the Rangers.

Napoleon 58,

NAPOLEON - Jordan Kruse scored 16 points, Lee Hunter added 13 and Joel Hunter had 12 as Napoleon improved to 5-1.
