New London 70, Lake 42
NORWALK -- Lake's season ended Saturday night at the hands of a hot-shooting New London team in a Division III boys basketball district final.
New London jumped out to a 37-22 lead at the half. It made 56 percent of its shots, including 9-of-16 3-pointers.
Lake, which was held to 32 percent shooting (17-of-53), was led by Ra'Shad Smith, who scored 16 points.
The Flyers (17-6) cut the Wildcats' lead to 26-20 with three minutes to go in the second quarter, but that was as close as Lake would get. New London (21-3) outscored the Flyers 44-22 the rest of the way.
The Wildcats were led by Clay LaFleur's 15 points. Dane Held had 14 points, and Clay Hall chipped in with 12.

LIMA -- Liberty-Benton took a 10-7 lead after the first quarter but was outscored 35-14 by Lima Central Catholic in the final three quarters in a Division III district final.
Tyler O'Connor scored 11 points to lead the Thunderbirds.
Rob Rucke had seven points to lead the Eagles.
Lima Central held Liberty-Benton to only one basket and one free throw for three points in the fourth quarter, while the Thunderbirds were scoring 14.
Ottawa-Glandorf 38, Archbold 26
NAPOLEON -- T.J. Metzger led the Titans (17-6) with 12 points in a Division III district final.
Luke Kammeyer had 10, while Tyson Dietrich added six for Archbold (17-6), which won the rebounding battle 26-22 but had 11 turnovers to Ottawa-Glandorf's seven.
The Blue Streaks (17-6) were behind 17-10 at the half and 27-17 after three quarters.
The Titans (17-6) shot 42 percent (14 of 33) from the field to the Streaks 29 percent (10 of 34).
O-G made 8 of 18 free throws to Archbold's 6 of 14.
