Ann M. Decant, 84, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, after an extended illness. Ann was born June 18, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, to Edward and Gladys (Kirk) Mettie. In 1960, Ann graduated from Clay High School. She married the love of her life, Richard Decant, February 25, 1961. Ann was an avid reader and enjoyed tending the flower and vegetable gardens at her home.
Ann is survived by her children, Robert Decant, David (Sharon) Decant, and Jeanne Decant; grandchildren, Madisyn (Justin) Hoggard and Brooke (Tyler) Lecus; great-grandchildren, William and Waylon Hoggard; sister, Barbara Curry; and sister-in-law, Carol Mettie. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Renee; husband, Richard; and brother, William Mettie.

Frederick "Fred" Kraemer Sr.
Fred Kraemer Sr. was born on December 22, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, to Oscar and Matilda Kraemer, and passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 87. Fred was raised by his mother, Matilda, until 1954 when she wed Edward ("Pete") Kury. Dad, Pete, provide guidance to Fred, but respected the fact that he was a young man. They developed a friendship that lasted a life time. Fred went to Garfield School and graduated from Waite High School in 1956. Fred married the love of his life, Beverly A. Stack, in 1959. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage together. Fred had many interests, which included fishing, cars, and never saying "no I can't do that for others."
Fred went to work as Boiler Cleaner at Toledo Edison Company in 1957, serving as a Janitor at Bayshore for a while, and then taking a job in the Chemical Laboratory, then working his way up to Chemical Laboratory Manager. Fred retired from Toledo Edison in 1993. Fred was Cub Scout Den Leader, Weblos leader, and Pack Secretary. He was also an assistant Soccer Coach. Fred loved his three children.
Fred is survived by his children, Fred (Kim) Kraemer Jr., Angela (Joe) Adams, and Eric (Nicole) Kraemer; grandchildren, William Ernest, Matthew Ernest, Vern (Katherine) Jensen, Jennifer (Phil) Molyet, Stephanie Kraemer, Nicole Kraemer, Natile (Dominic) Amenio, Chelsea (Aarik) Tucker, Jeb Shook (Rachel), Brandi Adams, Eric (Tiffany) Adams, Ceaira Adams, Cinya Adams, Kaiya Lowe; along with great-grandchildren; siblings, Beverly Cousino and Norma Guiher.
Fred and Bev had an extend family- they adopted in 1994, Vinnie and Tina, Steve and Kim, Dinh and Kim, Hanna and Jon, and Jennifer; and grandchildren, Ryan, Rosa, Ava, and Savannah. Preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; and his brothers, Willard J. Shears Jr. and Lawrence C. Shears.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio 43616, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow in Willow Cemetery.

Gary Keith Hauter, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 5, 2026. Born on December 25, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, Gary's life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family, community, and the many people whose lives he touched along the way.
Gary was a proud graduate of Sylvania High School's Class of 1973. He continued his education at Lakeland in Kirtland, Ohio, where he received his associate's degree in 1986. His commitment to service began early in life, and he answered the call to serve his country as a member of the Navy. Gary carried the discipline, integrity, and spirit of camaraderie fostered during his military service into every facet of his life.
Following his time in the armed forces, Gary found his professional calling with the Broward Sheriff's Office in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. There, he served with distinction as a Deputy Sheriff and particularly loved his role as a Field Training Officer, where he helped mentor and guide new deputies. Gary approached his work with a compassionate heart and a strong sense of duty, reflecting his lifelong passion for helping others and spreading kindness.
Gary's zest for life shone brightly outside of work. He had an enduring love for music, especially southern rock legends like Lynyrd Skynyrd, and was an accomplished musician himself. Whether playing guitar, bass, or drums, singing, or leading as the front man in various bands, he brought joy and energy to every performance. His talents extended to golfing, camping, motorcycling, and simply embracing the great outdoors. Gary was known for his warm presence, his remarkable ability to make people smile, and above all, his genuine love for being with others.
One of Gary's proudest accomplishments was marrying Susan on May 12, 2001. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, enduring partnership, and deep affection. Gary leaves behind his cherished wife, Susan Hauter; his loving children, Erin (Jason) Johnson, Sarah Hauter, and Matthew Blandino; and his treasured grandchildren, Gabriella, Nicholas, Carley, Lily, Hailee, Arabella, and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Savory; nephew, Michael (Kendra) Savory; nephew, Eric Hauter; and niece, Julie Heidelburg.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Harold Hauter; his mother, Helen Hauter; and his brother, Robert Hauter. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives Gary brightened are invited to honor his memory during visitation on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 5:00 p.m., at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614.

Joan C. Beadle, 90, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, with her loving family by her side at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on December 3, 1935, to Robert and Alma (Maguire) Nay. Joan graduated from Whitney High School and went on to work at Flower Hospital before she retired from Mercy St. Charles Hospital. She enjoyed baking and reading, but what she cherished most was her loving family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Michael Husen, Linda (Frank) Kinder, Gary (Debra) Husen, Tim (Patty) Beadle, Cindy (Johnny) Mack, Jim Beadle, Jackie (Brian) Thebeau; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Sweatman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; sister, Pat Mills; daughter-in-law, Donna Husen; and grandsons, Gary Husen Jr., and Brian Thebeau.

Frank Johnson "John" Silsbee III was born in Toledo on January 8, 1942, to parents, Frank and Dorothy Silsbee, and passed away on June 16, 2026, from cancer, in New Port Richey, FL, where he retired in 2014.
John graduated from Monroe High School in Michigan, and was a proud graduate of The University of Toledo.
John spent his entire professional career in the flat rolled steel industry, finally retiring after seventeen productive years at Doral Steel, where he had many meaningful relationships with his Doral family of friends.
John enjoyed watching sports, especially his Detroit Lions and Tigers. He also loved spending time at his Michigan cottage, baking goods and enjoying a nice glass of wine with a fine meal.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pete; son, Philip. He is survived by sister, Gail Walton of Columbia, MD; and son, John of Traverse City, MI.
Interment will be held at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery, in Perrysburg, OH, at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Marilyn J. Lovell, 92, passed away peacefully July 6, 2026, at her residence in The Woodlands. She was born July 19, 1933, to Walter and Gladys Todd, in Toledo. A graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Marilyn worked at Sears Roebuck for 29 years before retiring in 1999. She was married to James Lovell from 1954 until his death in 2011. She enjoyed travelling and spending time with her family, playing Scrabble, bingo, and Rummy cube, as well as watching Blue Bloods and NCIS on TV.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Gary (Barbara) Lovell, David (Deborah) Lovell, Richard (Carol) Lovell, Susan (John) Jakubowski; grandchildren, Sara (Mike) Johnson, Jennifer (Irving) Diaz, Carrie (significant other, Trey) Jakubowski, Paul (Nicole) Jakubowski, Brandon (fiancé, Cheryl) Hillabrand; great-grandchildren, Clayton, Isaac, Lyla Grace; niece, Cheryl (Bob) Harris; and nephews, Todd (Evan) Brown and Craig (Michael) Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lovell; and sister, Patricia Brown.

Robert George Ferencz Sr.
Robert George Ferencz Sr., age 96, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on June 17, 2026, at home. Robert was born in Budapest, Hungary, on March 18, 1930. He completed his basic school education, served in the Hungarian military, and later earned an Associate's degree. 70 years ago, in 1956, George was involved in the Hungarian Revolution, protesting the Hungarian government's subordination to the Soviet Union. After the revolution, he fled Hungary and made it to the U.S., thus earning a place in the 56ers. As a refugee, George worked very hard to earn his place in America, choosing Toledo, Ohio, as his home. Together with his friend and longtime partner, George Rodriguez, he built the Blue Line Remodeling and Roofing Company. George never fully retired, working well into his 90s. From his earliest days in Budapest, George's life was shaped by the vibrant cultural tapestry and enduring spirit of Hungary. His roots in Hungary remained a source of great pride and personal identity throughout his life. George was a founding member of the Freedom Fighters Club, the Hungarian Club of Toledo, and the Lucas County Hungarians. Preserving the traditions, foods, and culture of his homeland were very important to him. A testament to courage and adaptability, George did achieve the American Dream, from refugee to successful business and community leader.
George is survived by daughter, Eva Ferencz; sister, Ilona Kosza; daughter-in-law, Melisa Ferencz; son-in-law, Joe Moore; grandchildren, Sydney (Ian), Sierra, Hailey (Dominic), Aaron (Brittney), and Stephen; great-grandchildren, Monica, Katie, Calli, Chloe, Aria, and Freddie III; many great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sue Miller; and his beloved german shepherds, Susie, Ruby, and Sophie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia; daughter, Suzanne Moore; son, Robert Ferencz Jr.; and granddaughters, Michelle Halasz and Maggie Fox.
A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., in Oregon, Ohio, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Búcsúztatás service will be held at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1880 Genesee Street, Toledo, Ohio, at 11:00 a.m., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Theresa Susan (Strawinski) Kujawa, 67, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Theresa was born in Toledo, Ohio, on May 10, 1959, to Chester and Waverly (Kille) Strawinski, the fourth of their six children. She graduated from Whitmer High School in 1977, and earned an Associates Degree in Business from the University of Toledo while raising her children.
Theresa began her career as a Professional Secretary in the International Sales division of Champion Sparkplug Company, and later at Northern Ohio Food Brokers Company, before beginning her 39 year career at Promedica Health System. While at Promedica, she worked in the Medical Staff Office, Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center, then in the Staff Development Department, Grants and Research department, before finishing her career as an Administrative Assistant in the Flower Hospital Lab.
On May 30, 1981, she married her next door neighbor, love of her life, and best friend, David Kujawa. They were blessed to share 45 married years together traveling, attending UT basketball games, and raising their three beloved children.
Theresa had a flair for anything creative: sewing, crocheting, photography, especially stamping and scrapbooking. To know Theresa was to be loved by her, and if you received one of her handmade cards you knew you were loved deeper still. She also enjoyed gardening, and was always in search of the perfect pie crust recipe for her apple pie.
Though nothing was more important to Theresa than her family and her faith. She loved being a mother and Nana more than anything else. Her family will always hold her close in their hearts, and remember her for her incredible thoughtfulness, patience, infectious smile, and genuine kindness. She lived her life guided by love and generosity, ensuring everyone she met felt cared for and worthy of love. She was an angel walking among us who was finally called home.
Theresa is survived by her husband, David; her children, Chris (Lauren) Kujawa, Julianne (Tim) Urbancic, and Natalie (Hunter) Fritz; and grandson, Beau Urbancic. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Joan Kujawa; and stepmother, Carol Strawinski; brother, Chester (Robyn) Strawinski; and sisters, Brenda Ceparski, Sandra Schodowski, Rachelle (David) Johnston, Lorrie (Aaron) Kajtaniak; brothers-in-law, Michael Kujawa, Daniel (Ann) Kujawa, Richard (Melinda) Kujawa; and sisters-in-law, Konnie (Bill) Dunphy, and Kelli (Charlie) Harshman; stepsisters, Amy Netter and Lisa (Joel) Over; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Joseph Kujawa; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Schodowski and Frank Ceparski.
Theresa's family would like to thank the staff of Flower Hospital's seventh floor nursing unit, especially her nurse, Donna, for providing her with excellent care. They also wish to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg for the kindness and empathy shown to Theresa and the family, and for the outstanding, compassionate care they provided to her in her final days. A special thank you is given to Msgr. Michael Billion for administering the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick to Theresa.
Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, Monday, July 13, 2026, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service held at 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 Main Street, Sylvania, Ohio. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park cemetery.

Tom left us for a better life late on Tuesday, 7 July, 2026, at his home in StoryPoint, Waterville, Ohio. He was born on 24 July, 1940, in Fremont, Ohio, to Harold "Whitey" and Elizabeth "Betty" Jane (Hufford) Althoff.
Tom graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1959. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana, in 1963. He held many engineering positions including WTOL and Christy; he'd even earned the Low Pressure Boiler Operator certification for the operation of Steam Engines and Boilers. He later earned his Master of Education from The University of Toledo in 1989 and became an educator, teaching at locations like Owens Community College and Northview High School.
Tom's participation in the Tri-State College Amateur Radio Club was an early sign of what became a lifelong hobby in the amateur radio world. He maintained his advanced operator privileges as K8OSH and received an award for sixty years of service as a licensed radio amateur from The Quarter Century Wireless Association, Inc. (QCWA). He was a member of Chapter 142 and the Toledo Mobile Radio Association (TMRA). Many also know of his passion for marathon running, frankly running of any kind, especially with the international Hash group (non-competitive running) and the Toledo Road Runners, with the hashtag name 'Flour Fairy'. So many awards and medals! He participated in international running as well as runs such as the Marine Corp Marathon. Locally, some of his first-place awards included the Camelback 4 miler (sponsored by The News-Messenger). But he was the proudest of achieving 1st place in The Blade 10k. Additionally, Tom actively participated in the Rev CH Althoff Family Reunions for many years, including the 100th in 2025; he loved to tell family stories and learn about genealogy. Of his other activities, Tom was a trained volunteer fire fighter with a treasured Sylvania Fire Department patched jacket. He was also a past member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont, but currently attended Olivet Lutheran Church in Sylvania, and was member of the Elks Lodge 1850 in Maumee.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved sister, Carole. He is survived by a wealth of family, friends, and caregivers who will greatly miss him; his two daughters; and grandchildren. Vladimir "Joseph" Zielinski, 76, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away July 7, 2026. He was born November 1, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Leon J. and Helen R. (Rozdowski) Zielinski.
Joe was a 1968 graduate of Rodgers High School. He served his country in the United States Navy. Joe worked as a police officer for 33 years at Perrysburg Township Police Department, Whitehouse Police Department, and the Lucas County Sheriff's Department. He was an auctioneer, served as a Swanton Township Trustee, and was the first president of the Perrysburg Twp. FOP.
Joe was a member of the American Legion Swanton Post, Knights of Columbus, and Wood County FOP.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe is survived by his aunt, Jeannette; cousin, Nettie; good friend, Rose Marie Morris; and his beloved dog, "Fatty".
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 6603 Providence St. Inurnment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered by the United States Navy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning, at the funeral home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Perrysburg Township Police Department.
