Allen Leonard Radlinski

Allen Leonard Radlinski, age 74, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on May 17, 2024. He was born in Toledo on July 20, 1949, to Aloysius and Evelyn (Sobczak) Radlinski.
Allen served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant. He was a 1971 graduate of the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Allen was a member of the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi and ROTC. He was employed at Monroe Manufacturing, Ferro, Lear, Expressbill, IAC and Biofit,
Allen was a high school sports official refereeing basketball for 50 years, volleyball for 45 years, football for 21 years, and lacrosse for 8 years. He is a "Golden Whistle" Award recipient and officiated numerous playoff games and state championships.
He was secretary for the Northwest Ohio District Basketball Association for over 30 years and was a staff member and volunteer for the Glass City Marathon for 25 years.
It was in Allen's nature to give back to his community. During his lifetime, he donated nearly 20 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross, was on the IRB Board at Toledo Hospital, and volunteered at numerous church festivals and events. In retirement he was a "substitute" teacher taking over 120 assignments a year.
Allen loved working outside and the neighbors always said he had the nicest lawn on the block. He took great pride in his children's accomplishments and attending all of his grandkid's activities and sporting events. Undoubtedly, his greatest joy was spending time with his loving family and friends.
Allen is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Denise Radlinski; children, Aaron Radlinski (Meggin) Radlinski, Brad Radlinski and Craig Radlinski; grandchildren, Allison, Andrew, Matthew, A.J. and Alex; grand dogs, Gatsby, Arya, Maribel; and his sister, Judith (Joe).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Aloysius Radlinski.
Friends and family will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 3:00-8:00 PM. The Celebration Mass will take place at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 23, 2024, at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church.

Jerry L. Fike, age 81, of Jasper, MI, passed away on May 19, 2024, at Toledo Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was born on October 25, 1942, to Kenneth N. and Betty L. (Guthrie) Fike in Ogden Township, MI, one of 6 children. He graduated from Metamora High School in 1960.
On August 14, 1995, he married Teresa "Terri" Smith in Adrian, MI and she survives. He was employed at the Dana Corporation, Roadway Truck Lines, and then for over 40 years on the family farm near Metamora, OH. He enjoyed his various boy toys over the years, going to gun shows and breakfast with his best friend, Ray Wilson and especially enjoyed going to dinner with Terri at Eddie Lee's in Toledo.
In addition to his wife Terri he is survived by his former wives and mothers of his children, Sharon Miller of Winter Haven, FL and Kathy Fike of Toledo, Ohio; daughters, Shea Ducat of Lakeland, FL, Amy (Chad) Kelly of Toledo, OH; stepson, Robert (Gabriella) Smith II of Wesley Chapel, FL; siblings, K. Hal (Becky) Fike of Sylvania, OH, Kathy Carlisle of Prior Lake, MN, Nick (Marcia) Fike of Jasper, MI, Michael (Lisa) Fike of Manitou Beach, MI, and Kristie Quan of Lambertville, MI; grandchildren, Jourdan Ducat, Chelsea Ducat, Shannon Kelly, Tyler Kelly, Lexi Smith, Nikki Smith, Haley Smith, and Emma Smith; nephews and nieces, Doug (Shanelle) Fike, Shannon Fike, Matthew Carlisle, Megan (Peter) Glashagel, Noel (Jennifer) Fike, Kara (Mikel) McClellan, Angie (Jonathan) Parker, Logan (Jade) Quan, and Haley (Christopher) Coscarelli; and special friends, Ray and Carol Wilson.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin L. Fike; stepson, Eddie Smith; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Carlisle and Trevor Quan.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held later this summer at the farm.

Robert B. Brown, Sr.
Robert "Bob" Brown went to his Lord on April 29, 2024 surrounded by friends and family. Bob was born on December 30,1927 at Toledo Hospital to David and Crystal Brown. He grew up in Toledo. Bob attended DeVilbiss High School playing tennis, basketball, football, and track while also being a strong student. His senior year he attended Kiski preparatory school in Saltsburg Pennsylvania. At Kiski he played both football and tennis. Bob attended Princeton University graduating in 1950 with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
His first job took him to upstate New York with International Salt Company. Bob's next position brought him back home to work with Owens Corning Fiberglass. While in Toledo he earned his MBA from the University of Toledo. Bob met his future wife, Sally Squire, at a social at the Toledo Tennis Club. They were married on October 24,1953 in Toledo at Epworth Methodist Church where they belonged over the course of their lifetime.
Bob held positions with Standard Oil of Ohio (SOHIO) that took him to Lima, Cleveland and Toledo. When asked to move to Alaska Bob decided to change jobs. Bob stayed in Toledo and began work for Rightmeyer Johnson & Associates. His entrepreneurial spirit began to emerge as he invested in the Dutch Boy Car Wash and Mr. Steak on Central Avenue. Bob bought into Fresh Products in 1980, becoming the sole owner of the company. Bob grew the company from a regional company to compete internationally. His vision helped to modernize the manufacturing process as well as increase sales. Doug Brown, his youngest son, is now running Fresh Products.
Bob loved all sports! He was a huge competitor playing numerous racket sports his entire life. His love of tennis was known throughout Toledo. Bob loved to travel. He and Sally participated in People to People, an ambassador program in which they played tennis around the world with those of different countries. Bob included his children and grandchildren in his love of travel inviting them to wonderful family vacations. He loved his family, drinking good wine, telling stories, and giving great toasts. Bob felt education was very important and encouraged all of his grandchildren in that regard. He was a lifelong learner making his own wine, participating in the Sun City Triathlon and enjoying the arts.
His success with Fresh Products translated into generosity in supporting the organizations about which he was most passionate. He was very generous to numerous charities around Toledo, the Toledo Community Foundation, Hillsdale College, Kiski and Princeton University.
Bob and Sally funded the gymnasium at Epworth in honor of his parents, Dave and Crystal Brown.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sally in 2009. Survivors include daughter, Sarah Goldman (Jim) of Cincinnati; sons, Rob (Karen) of Rembert, SC and Doug (Lisa) of Toledo. 10 grandchildren, Emily, Cody (Emily), Cameron (Katie), Grace (Evan), Harrison (Stephanie), Jared (Emma), Peter (Rachel), Betsy (Mark), Anna and Sam and 1 great grandson, Henry.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 3-7:30 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, 4855 Central Avenue, Toledo, OH 43615. The family requests that any gifts in his memory be made to either the Toledo Tennis Club, or The Toledo Community Foundation. Online condolences to the family may be made at walkerfuneralhomes.com.

A graveside service has been set for Lorene Swearengen who passed away on December 14, 2016, in Owatonna, Minnesota. It will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park, 3665 Genoa Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551. In the event of rain it will be held in the chapel. There will be a luncheon afterwards at 2111 Shoreland Ave., Toledo, OH 43611.
