Lucas County Dogs for Adoption:: 7-15

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed July 9-10 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

Boxer, tan and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​body handling (scored 3/​5 on June 25), surrendered by Natalie Hoersten-Fisher, Pool Street, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” brindle female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (scored 4/​4 on July 8), Franklin Avenue, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

German shepherd, black and tan female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (very underweight with overall muscle wasting, weak and painful hips and rear legs, curved spine, difficulty standing and walking, poor prognosis), California Boulevard, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

“Pit bull” mix, brown and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (scored 3/​4 on July 8), Dahlia Drive, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

“Pit bull” mix, brindle and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​body handling (scored 3/​5 on July 8), surrendered by Bryan Neely, Glenhurst Drive, Maumee.

Yorkshire terrier, silver and tan male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (diabetic, no transfer partner able to take), surrendered by Patrick Ingram, Catalina Drive, Toledo.

German shepherd mix, sable and tan male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​body handling (scored 5/​5 on July 9), Paxton Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Chow chow mix, black female, Schadel Road, Whitehouse, stray picked up by a control officer.

Pekingese, black and gray male, Lagrange Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.
