To the editor: Don’t call it a tax cut for middle class

From left, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Vice President Mike Pence, House Speaker Paul Ryan and Republican lawmakers react as President Donald Trump speaks during a celebration of the passage of the tax overhaul bill.

In their efforts to hoodwink the middle class, President Trump and his Republican cohorts stated that the tax reform bill is for the middle class and that the middle class will benefit greatly.

Not true. Most middle class families will realize only very modest savings (about $15 a paycheck for 80 percent of taxpayers) over a limited number of years.

The GOP needs to quit hiding behind grandiose semantics to convince middle class Americans that a lopsided tax bill that uses the middle class as an excuse for adding approximately $1.5 trillion to the national debt and lining the pockets of the already rich is good for them.

Where were claims 20, 30 years ago?

I am so sick of women coming out of the woodwork 10, 20, 30, or even 40 years after the fact claiming that they have been sexually assaulted and ruining a man’s life.

I feel there should be a limit of five years in which a woman can file a complaint. When the woman goes public with her claim, her name should also be made public.

To me, it looks like these women have low self-esteem, need money, or are just needy in the attention department.
