ANN ARBOR, Mich. — A man who pleaded guilty in the fatal shooting of a University of Michigan medical student has provided crucial details during testimony against an alleged accomplice.
Shaquille Jones says Dajeon Franklin fired the gun that killed Paul DeWolf last July at a fraternity house for medical students. He says the shooting occurred during a second trip to the house to look for things to steal.
Jones’ testimony today helped persuade a judge to order Franklin to stand trial on a murder charge in Washtenaw County. The Ann Arbor News reports that the victim’s blood was also found on Franklin’s shoes.
Jones is from North Charleston, S.C. He says he and co-defendant Joei Jordan of Sumter, S.C., were living with Jordan’s grandmother in Ypsilanti. Franklin is Jordan’s cousin.
