West Toledo frozen yogurt shop latest in string of robberies

A West Toledo frozen yogurt shop was robbed today, adding to the long list of west side shops that have been held up this week.

Toledo police were dispatched to Apricato, 4137 Talmadge Rd., at 2:07 p.m. after a man went into the store and demanded cash from an employee, according to initial reports.

A weapon wasn't shown during the robbery, but the suspect reportedly threatened the employee.

A limited suspect description was available today, but police were looking for a white man last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.

Other businesses held up this week with similar suspect descriptions include: Dairy Queen, 5300 Monroe St., on Thursday; The UPS Store, 3550 Executive Pkwy., on Wednesday; and two Tan Pros at 3224 Secor Rd. and 2104 W. Laskey Rd., on Wednesday.

Police have not said if the robberies are related, but are looking into the possibility.

Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
