The University of Toledo Police Department soon could have some new officers.
The department is hiring, looking for people “with strong character, judgment, and commitment to safety,” Chief Jeff Newton said.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license, meet minimum physical fitness standards, and have a valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy certificate or be enrolled in a certified police academy.
Candidates will submit to a drug test and must have completed 96 quarter hours or 64 semester hours of college credits or have at least five years of continuous, active, full-time law enforcement experience.
Written exams and physical fitness tests will be given April 26. Applications should be received by April 16 at utoledo.edu.
