Four dogs are being cared for at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control following a drug-related police raid Wednesday in the 1200 block of Starr Avenue.
Toledo police served a no-knock warrant at the East Toledo house and discovered the canines inside. The county shelter was called to assist as is standard procedure in such instances, and removed the dogs from the home at police request.
The two “pit bulls,” a boxer mix, and a cane corso show no signs of any immediate concerns, according to the shelter. Two of the dogs are listed as being elderly.
