Toledo police are asking for help investigating the death of an unidentified baby boy whose body was found in an abandoned car in southwest Toledo last spring.

The decomposing body of the boy, believed to be 2 months old or younger, was reported to police at 10:41 p.m. May 11. Officers arrived at the 2400 block of Vaness Drive, off Bancroft Street, and found the body left inside.

The car had been there for a long time and was not running, police said.

There were no signs of trauma on the body, according to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with information about the baby or his death is urged to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
