CLEVELAND — A man sought in Ohio on charges of kidnapping and raping a minor has been arrested in Puerto Rico.
The U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force in Puerto Rico arrested 37-year-old William Torres on Friday. Authorities say Torres is wanted by the Cuyahoga County sheriff’s office in Cleveland for allegedly holding a minor against her will and raping her in July.
Court records show the Cleveland man is charged with 18 counts of rape and six counts of kidnapping. No attorney was listed for him.
Torres was on the “Agonizing Eight” list of most wanted, alleged sex offenders released Nov. 4 by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott says four of the eight have been arrested.
Authorities say Torres is in jail awaiting extradition to Ohio.
