Rockets beat Boston College 95-92

CHESTNUT HILL, Ma. — Trailing most of the night, the University of Toledo basketball team rallied late for a 95-92 road win tonight at Boston College.

The Rockets, who were down 11 points early in the second half, tied the game at 86-86 on two Justin Drummond free throws with 1:18 to play. Julius Brown hit an 18-foot jumper on the next trip down to take the lead for good.

Toledo, which is 2-0 for the first time since 2003-04, received a big night from its back court. Brown had 23 points and 10 assists, and Drummond added 20 points and five rebounds.

Also in double figures were Nathan Boothe (17 points) and J.D. Weatherspoon (13). The Rockets shot 57 percent from the field (32 of 56) and 78 percent from the line (29 of 37).

Boston College (0-3) had a chance to tie the game with eight seconds to go after Weatherspoon fouled Patrick Heckman on a 3-pointer. Heckman made his first two free throws before missing the third. Weatherspoon then hit twice from the line at the other end.

Boston College, picked to finish eighth in the ACC, received 18 points from Olivier Hanlan.
