ANN ARBOR — The Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor is getting nearly $1.5 million as part of new federal grants aimed at boosting business investment.
The U.S. Department of Commerce on Tuesday announced $20.5 million in Make it in America Challenge funding, including money for the center. The Michigan project includes 22 counties in southeast Michigan. A description of the project says the funding will in part support research into bio-based product manufacturing and its relationships to the automotive manufacturing sector.
