Toledoan gets prison term for 2 robberies

A Toledo man was sentenced Thursday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to six years in prison for a pair of robberies.

Travis L. Welch, 31, of 1752 Brownstone Blvd., received consecutive sentences of three years from Judge James Bates on the robbery convictions.

He robbed the KFC restaurant on West Alexis Road in Sylvania on Dec. 22, and robbed and tied up an elderly man at a house in the 1300 block of Ontario Street on Jan. 3, authorities said.

Judge Bates also imposed a sentence of 39 months for a parole violation on unrelated multiple convictions out of Seneca County.
