Mayshyia A. Davis, 31, of the 2000 block of Walnut Street was ordered to spend 180 days of her four-year probationary period at the Lucas County Work Release Program followed by 60 days on electronic monitoring. Davis entered an Alford plea — not admitting guilt — and was found guilty Aug. 9 of arson for setting fire to a garage and car in the 2900 block of Elm Street April 22.

Jerry Cole, 52, of Vance Street was placed on community control for five years beginning with 180 days at work release followed by 90 days on electronic monitoring. He entered Alford pleas Aug. 7 to attempted improperly handling of firearms in a motor vehicle, attempted improperly discharging a firearm in a motor vehicle, and attempted aggravated arson for throwing a molotov cocktail into a Nebraska Avenue home May 6.

Judge Stacy Cook, who imposed both sentences, told both defendants they must register as arson offenders annually with the county sheriff for the rest of their lives. Davis was ordered to pay up to $1,200 restitution to the victim.
