Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 4/10

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

Now available for adoption

This dog is newly available for adoption at Lucas County Canine Care & Control, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. Listed are the name, breed, sex, and impound number. For information, call 419-213-2800. If you are searching for a lost dog, the office is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. You must bring a photo ID to walk through the holding areas.

 

 

 

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed April 8 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull,” tan and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3 out of 5 on March 17), Dorr Street, Toledo, running at large.

“Pit bull” mix, orange male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 3/4 on April 7), Bancroft Street, Toledo, running at large.

Rottweiler, black and tan female, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (dog had advanced mammary cancer), surrendered by Christopher Hayes, Lucas Street, Toledo.

German shepherd, tan and black male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (dog was paralyzed in both rear legs, abnormal spinal curve, extreme pain, grim prognosis), found on Rosedale Avenue, Toledo.
