Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 5-22

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed May 20 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

Labrador retriever mix, white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4 out of 4 on May 19), Central Avenue, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Labrador retriever, black male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (unable to walk up stairs, losing control of bowels, tumor on foot), surrendered by Neil Mclean, Birchall Road, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” black male, West Central Avenue, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

“Pit bull,” brown male, Elliott Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Beagle mix, tricolor female, surrendered by Arlene Meyers, Carney Drive, Maumee.

Boxer, brindle and white male, Starr Avenue, Oregon, stray picked up by a control officer.

 

Dogs transferred

Dogs transferred May 20 to the Toledo Area Humane Society under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Australian cattle dog mix, brindle and white female, Angola Road, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

German shepherd mix, black and tan female, Chicago Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Chihuahua, tan and white female, Manhattan Boulevard, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Two Chihuahuas, one white and brindle male, one orange and white male, C Street, Toledo, strays picked up by a control officer.

Labrador retriever/basset hound mix, black and white male, Gunn Road, Holland, stray brought to the shelter.

Chihuahua mix, black female, Brookview Drive, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Labrador retriever, black female, Tiffany Square Drive, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.
