Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

Dogs adopted out May 25 and 27 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable):

Yorkshire terrier, brown and gray male, Central Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

German shepherd mix, orange and white female, Colburn Avenue, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Dandie Dinmont terrier mix, white and brown male, surrendered by Debra Popovich, Almeda Drive, Toledo.

 

Dog killed

Dog killed May 29 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored one a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

"Pit bull," black and white female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (lame rear leg, raw foot pads, hair loss, bacterial and fungal parasites, skin scrapes, and lesions) South Erie Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.
