Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 7-26

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

“Pit bull” mix, tan and white female, surrendered by Brittany Martin, Angola Road, Toledo.

Dogs killed July 23-24 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull,” brindle and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​body handling (scored 3/​5 on July 22), Berry Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull,” tan and white male, unlicensed, bit a person while running loose, Collingwood Boulevard, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Chihuahua, tan and black female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (large, immovable perianal mass, pain, poor prognosis), Grisell Road, Oregon, stray brought to the shelter.

Catahoula leopard dog/“pit bull” mix, blue merle female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​body handling (scored 3/​5 on July 22), surrendered by Bonita Lehmann, Cecelia Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull” mix, black and blue tick male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​resource guarder (scored 4/​5 on July 22), Willow Avenue, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Miniature schnauzer, black and white male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (had killed another dog), surrendered by Ronald Scheibner, Colburn Street, Toledo.
