Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed Aug. 18 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull,” white and brown male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (worsening ringworm lesion, highly contagious to both dogs and humans, no transfer partner able to take), Birmingham Terrace, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull” mix, white and black male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4 out of 4 on Aug. 17), Bancroft Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

 

Dog adopted

Dog adopted out Aug. 18 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Doberman pinscher mix, black and tan male, Oak Forest Drive, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

 

Dog transferred

Dog transferred Aug. 18 to the Lucas County Pit Crew under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

“Pit bull,” orange and white female, Berry Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.
