SANDUSKY Cedar Fair LP has reported profit of $170.8 million, or $3.11 a share, in the third quarter, up 86 percent from $91.7 million, or $1.70 a share, in the same period a year ago.
The firm said its earnings were boosted by a reversal of $66.1 million of contingent liabilities recorded in prior periods related to publicly traded partnership taxes.
The operator of seven amusement parks, including Cedar Point, and five water parks reported revenues for the quarter of $317 million, up 4 percent from $305.6 million a year earlier.
